Greensand Trust and volunteers accept cheque from Biggleswade Masonic Lodge

Biggleswade Masonic Lodge donate 500

The Greensand Trust and volunteers are shown above accepting a donation of 500, from Biggleswade Masonic Lodge, for tools and equipment to help volunteers on practical conservation tasks. We are very grateful for the support from Biggleswade Masonic Lodge.

Trisha Johns, Greensand Trust volunteer 'When I retired, I wanted an interest that would get me out in the fresh air, make new friends and do something useful in the community. Greensand Trust fits the bill perfectly as I've always enjoyed being in the countryside (and a cuppa round the bonfire is a real bonus). My partner is a mason and asked if I knew of a worthy local charity that could do with funds. As a result, The Ivel Lodge donated 500, so I am looking forward to a fun, but busy spring and summer putting our new equipment to good use."

Countryside ranger Liz Millbank commented, 'We're really fortunate in having a great bunch of keen volunteers who carry out a range of projects around the county. This donation from the Lodge means we can now buy more of the tools that we need to help us manage the many different areas that we look after in and around the Greensand Ridge in Bedfordshire.'
