The Greensand Trustís Bug Lab Tour is now in its third year, and continues to grow in success.

This year more than 275 children, plus their parents, participated in the Bug Lab tour sessions, at nine sites across Bedfordshire.

The Bug Lab Tour consisted of a series of two hour Ďdrop-iní sessions aimed at families with children aged between 4 and 12 years old, although older and younger children did take part. We provided the participants with collecting equipment, identification guides and microscopes, and provide advice as to how to use them and the best places to look for all the creepy crawlies.

Once the children had identified their bugs they were able to use their crafty skills and make a bug to take home with them as a reminder of the day.

Sites visited by the tour in 2009:
Stockgrove Country Park, Heath and Reach
Ampthill Park
Houghton Hall Park, Houghton Regis
Tiddenfoot Waterside Park, Linslade
Flitwick Woods
Pages Park, Leighton Buzzard
Heath Wood and Meadow, Leighton Buzzard
Astral Park, Billington Park, Leighton Buzzard
Vimy Road riverside, Linslade

The Bug Lab Tour is a really popular event because we use local sites and reveal the wildlife living nextdoor!
