Labyrinth in Maulden Wood

Faith Woodlands Communities aims to help people from all backgrounds to enjoy and learn more about nature and the countryside. Working with all communities in Luton and Bedford, and making particular use of the diverse faith networks in these two towns. We aim to show how all faiths share an appreciation of nature and care for the environment. Faith Woodlands Communities is a project run by Luton Council of Faiths, in partnership with Bedford Council of Faiths, Forestry Commission, Greensand Trust, Luton Borough Council and Grassroots. It is funded through Natural England's Access to Nature programme funded until May 2013.

The Greensand Trust is a partner, sitting on the Steering Group and helping with educational activities, events and maintenance of the Sacred Space and Labyrinth in Maulden Wood.

On Easter Saturday 2011, an event was held in partnership with the Faith Woodland Communities Project at Maulden Woods. Over 50 people visited the woodland for a series of spring themed activities in the sunshine. The families had lots of fun meeting trees, finding clues, spotting butterflies, singing and picnicking before heading home for more Easter celebrations.

Please visit the Faith Woodlands Communities website for further details about the project and events throughout the year.
