Park Warden Officer
Park Warden (Ampthill Great Park)

We are seeking a Park Warden to join the Greensand Trust Ranger Service to support the management of Ampthill Great Park Bedfordshire.

This is a fixed term contract to March 2018. This may be extended.

The successful post holders will assist the Greensand Trust Ranger service monitoring and managing Ampthill Park grounds and greenspaces, Aspley Woods (Woburn) and supporting winter grounds management projects.

You will carry out practical green space and park habitat and management work on sites for which the Greensand Trust has responsibility.

¦ Keep all areas under responsibility clean and tidy, and to a high standard of presentation.

¦ The use of mechanical equipment e.g. mowers and tractors including basic maintenance (training will be provided where necessary).

¦ Assist with seasonal amenity and conservation grass and scrub management.

You need to hold a clean driving licence and be a minimum of 21 years old for insurance purposes.

Annual leave entitlement will be entitled to 28 days holiday which includes bank holidays.
Pay £7.73 per hour

Voluntary Visitor Services Officer
Herons View Visitor Centre

The Greensand Trust relies on the support of volunteers to provide visitor information and services to visitors to Rushmere Country Park.

The main responsibilitites of this role are to assist the Visitor Services Team to:
• To engage with visitors ensuring they feel welcome and recognize how much we value their support.
• Respond to visitor enquiries providing information and guidance to visitors, whilst also promoting the site and its activities
• Process retail sales, parking, cycle and horse permit sales and donations
The hours can be flexible and are managed on a rota system, working as part of a team of volunteers to provide visitor services whilst the centre is open. Relevant experience is helpful but not essential as training will be provided, however given the nature of the role it is essential that you have excellent communication skills and a positive and engaging attitude.

Casual Catering Assistant Required
Tree Tops Cafe, Rushmere Country Park

We are currently recruiting catering assistants for TreeTops Cafe.
You need to be hardworking and self-motivated with the ability and confidence to work independently. We expect all of our team to be warm, friendly and helpful with a desire to provide great service. We are looking for people who’ll take pride in the presentation of every plate of food served to a customer. You’ll also be willing to muck in and help your team mates, whether that’s helping on the till, washing up, and replenishing stock or giving directions to a visitor.
You’ll have a ‘can-do’ attitude and a proactive approach to getting things done.
You’ll have guidance and support from one of our managers, but we really want you to think on your feet and ‘put yourself in the customer’s shoes’.

This is currently a fixed term position but may lead to further opportunities as the Visitor Centres Catering Facilities Develop.

Voluntary Car Park Marshall
Herons View Visitor Centre

We would like to ask for a volunteer or volunteers to help with parking management at peak times at Rushmere Country Park. Working with the Visitor Services team you will help visitors navigate our parking areas and help ensure overflow parking areas are avaialble when required. We require support for 2-3 hours per day to cover peak periods.
