Whipsnade Green is an area of largely open common land that extends over almost 15 hectares (35 acres) and is surrounded by Whipsnade Village.  The Greensand Trust assist the Friends of Whipsnade Green and helps to run volunteer days in conjunction with The National Trust – contact 01525-237760 for more information.
Whipsnade Heath is close to Dunstable Downs and as the name suggests it used to be heath land. It is important as a mixed grassland/woodland site for both access for the general public and for its wildlife. The Heath covers nearly 24 hectares (58 acres) and is designated a County Wildlife Site. As well as a lot of scrub it also has some wonderful ancient trees.  The Trust assists the Management group made up from interested parties/land owners
